Ingredients

  • For Filling
  • 300g lean pork loin (cut)

  • 100g Shrimp, cleaned

  • 120g Chinese chives, chopped

  • 2 Garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 tsp Light Soy sauce

  • 1 tsp Oyster sauce

  • few drops of Maggie Sauce

  • 1 egg

  • few drops of Fish Sauce

  • 1/4 tsp Sesame oil

  • Pinch of Pepper & Five Spice

  • 1 tsp Chinese ShaoXing Wine

  • 1/4 tsp Japanese Mirin

  • 1/4 tsp of ABC Sweet Soy Sauce

  • Handful White Sesame Seeds

  • For Dumpling
  • 1 pack Dumpling Wrapper

  • Corn starch & warm water

Directions

  • Prepare the filling by mixing pork stripes/minced, chopped shrimp, minced garlic, chopped Chinese chives, all sauces, sesame oil, salt, pepper and 1 egg in a bowl. Adjust seasoning to taste.
  • Take a small spoonful of the filling and place it in the center of a dumpling wrapper.
  • Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water and fold the wrapper in half, pressing the edges together to seal. You can pleat the edges for a decorative touch if desired.
  • Repeat with the remaining filling and wrappers until all the filling is used.
  • Place the dumplings in a single layer on a parchment paper-lined steamer basket, making sure they are not touching each other.
  • Bring water to a boil in the steamer pot. Once boiling, place the steamer basket over the pot and cover.
  • Steam the dumplings for about 8-10 minutes, or until the filling is cooked through and the wrappers are translucent.
  • Carefully remove the steamer basket from the pot and let the dumplings cool for a few minutes before serving.
  • Serve the dumplings with soy sauce, vinegar, and chili oil for dipping, if desired. Enjoy your homemade steamed pork, shrimp, and chive dumplings!
